Historic Craftsman Kitchen Remodel

The owners of this 100 year-old home needed a new kitchen and wanted to restore it to the original character of this classically-inspired craftsman. With grown children living nearby, they wanted a space that would not only be a long-awaited realization of their dream kitchen, but a central gathering place for three generations.

The new design removed dividing walls and raised the ceiling back to 9 feet. A simple and practical rectangular plan around a central island reorients the space toward the outdoors and the new classical stair landing. Honed Carrara marble countertops and Shaker style cabinet doors reinforce the craftsman/classical theme.
